Adobe CS6 Master Collection

Adobe Creative Suite 6

Adobe is the industry standard for multimedia, internet, and creativity software. But they are beyond the affordability for quite a few. But with their Creative Cloud subscription, this I believe has changed.  For plus or minus $1.50 a day or $29.99 – $49.99 a month you can download, install, and use on or off-line any of the new Adobe Creative Suite 6 desktop programs that are included in the $2,599 CS6 Master Collection like;

  • Photoshop Extended Photoshop CS6 Extended
  • Illustrator Illustrator CS6
  • InDesign InDesign CS6
  • Acrobat Pro Acrobat X Pro
  • Flash Professional Flash Professional CS6
  • Flash Builder Flash Builder 4.6 Premium Edition
  • Dreamweaver Dreamweaver CS6
  • Fireworks Fireworks CS6
  • Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
  • After Effects After Effects CS6
  • Adobe Audition Adobe Audition CS6
  • SpeedGrade SpeedGrade CS6
  • Adobe Prelude Prelude CS6
  • Encore Encore CS6
  • Bridge Bridge CS6
  • Media EncoderMedia Encoder CS6

Plus you get even more including online services to sync, store, and share files online, free websites and other cloud-only services . You get the latest software and features as soon as  they are available.

The Creative Cloud subscription name leads to some confusion. You don’t have to be online to use this software. It is installed on your computers. I suggest going to the Creative Cloud FAQ to learn the details if you are interested.

I did decide that I can justify the cost for these amazing products, so I subscribed. So far I have installed Photoshop Extended, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver on both my desktop and laptop. Here is a screenshot of my desktop with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver running.

I am a big fan of Foss (free and open source software) like GIMP (digital image editor,) Inkscape (vector graphics editor,) and Scribus (desktop publishing editor), and will continue to use them along with the Adobe software. I  grateful for the volunteer developers who make these programs available free to us all. I get much enjoyment using these great programs. If you are not interested in the Adobe products described in this article then try these and others free programs listed in the Favorite Tools page.
