Identifying Plants & Trees

Last month, during my low-budget RV living, I was staying in the Brandon, South Dakota area near Sioux Falls. There was this great nature area, 5 miles from the truck stop I was overnighting at, called Beaver Creek Nature Area.

I was talking to the ranger the first time I was there, and he told me about a phone app that identifies plants and trees called Seek. It is amazing. I am having fun using it.

Tonight, I took a short walk and used the Seek app again. It recognized the plants I pointed my phone at and took photos of, including Birdsfoot Trefoil (also a grass planted in farming), Horseweed, Giant Ragweed, and the trees Quaking Aspen, Box Elder, and more. The Seek app gives plenty of information on the plant or tree you photographed.
